Our scientists have deep expertise in drug discovery and development. We can assist in the earliest planning stages to put your project on a solid foundation. Many of our scientists have managed projects from inception, through strategic planning and early discovery, and into pre-clinical development. Development

Patent and Chemical Space
MedChem Partners provides professional medicinal chemistry consultation for grant, proposal and patent preparation. We can work with the client’s scientists or managers to put their ideas and inventions in a format that will facilitate the patenting process. By working with the client’s patent attorney ,we can streamline the patenting process and insure good coverage of chemical space. In addition, we can define the chemical space in and around certain hits or literature compounds to better outline the path to development, including identification of competitors’ compounds and how they relate to clients’ NCEs.

Compound Development
We can address issues such as lack of bioavailability, poor solubility and inappropriate CYP450 profiles. Development issues are some of the biggest challenges in drug R&D. We can help you overcome these challenges by establishing proper screening regimes in e-ADME and PK, performing pre-formulation screens to find acceptable vehicles and enhancing ADME or PK properties via chemical modification

Program Initiation and Due Diligence

We have assisted our clients with fundraising by preparing medicinal chemistry development plans that outline critical program milestones and decision points such as: hit criteria, primary and secondary screening assays, relevant animal efficacy models and resource identification. Our plans also include overviews of relevant therapeutic areas and the associated patent landscape, key compounds in discovery and development and strategies for hit generation and lead progression. Clients use these reports when presenting projects to potential funding and partnering groups. In addition, venture group clients find these reports helpful when performing due diligence on potential new investments.
