MedChem Partners provides services in all areas of medicinal chemistry, from early stage hit generation, validation and proof-of-principle studies to late stage lead optimization. Our experience ranges from project inception and resource identification to synthetic route planning and library synthesis. We also perform a variety of laboratory tasks  from small and routine, such as lyophilization, LC/MS, NMR, salt switching, etc.; to large and complex, such as chemical modification of existing drugs or natural products, synthesis of reference compounds, generation of SAR series. Some of the medicinal chemistry services we offer are: scaffold hopping, hit explosion, SAR development and lead generation, optimization of ADME, exploratory chemistry to validate synthesis of new scaffolds, metabolite and stable isotope synthesis, cold route finding in support of radiochemistry, and exploratory pre-formulation.

Target Engagement

MedChem Partners has expertise in chemically modifying targets with tags that allow to monitor the molecule in different biological systems.  Whether it is a dye that can be followed by fluorescence, or a photoaffinity label that allows crosslinking to the target, we can devise a route to install the tag on the target  of interest.  In addition to tagging small molecules, we can also tag biomolecules, peptides, natural products, lipids, polysaccharides, or nanomaterials.

Early Development Services

Stable isotope label internal standard (SILIS):  MedChem Partners has extensive experience in synthesis of stable labeled compounds.  Some examples include small molecules,  natural products and  lipids. We can rapidly re-engineer synthetic routes to work with available labeled starting materials and prepare 2H, 13C, 18O and 15N labeled reference compounds. We can provide milligram to gram quantities of labeled compound for use as internal reference or as a starting point for further synthesis.

Metabolite synthesis:  When performing in vivo work,  Identifying metabolites and generating reference standards for use in bioanalysis is extremely important.  We can design a synthetic route to independently prepare  metabolites for use as reference standards to quantify the amount formed and the PK of the process.

Impurity synthesis: During  development, profiling a process for impurities is a must.   We can profile your process and provide reference standards of impurities for quantification and QC.  We can help by providing a clean reference standard with a COA that meets the needs of the project.

Off-Shore Services

MedChem Partners has introduced an innovative outsourcing model based on a hybrid work approach maximizing the strengths of both U.S. and Chinese labor force. Accordingly, we have a dedicated facility in China that can perform chemistry with oversight management and troubleshooting from our experts in Lexington, MA.

   Advantages:

  • U.S. Quality assurance at lower cost
  • Seamless integration
  • Easily scalable
  • U.S. Lab to troubleshoot any problems
